The following details the procedure for replacing stripped nylon gears used in the Toyota Power Seat mechanism. The instructions here are for the Toyota Supra 93 although the same mechanism may be used in other Toyota models. Check the dimensions of the parts before ordering (see below) and attempting a repair.

Problem: When the power seat is operated the seat base does not move laterally forward or back at all (both gears stripped) or only moves on one side and starts to twist (one gear stripped). Complete failure could be due to the motor or an electrical fault which is not covered here.

Components: Gearbox constructed of plastic with a nylon helical gear driven by a steel screw gear at right angles.

Solution 1: Replace complete gearbox unit. The cost of the complete left hand side gearbox unit is expensive at approx $174 (£112 UK purchase). The cost of the right hand side gearbox may be similar.

Solution 2: Replace the individual gear within the gearbox approx $19. The following procedure is for option 2.

Dismantling the seat mechanism will take some head scratching, but persevere.

On disassembly of the gearbox you will most likely find the nylon gear has stripped and the driving steel screw gear is intact.

The dimensions of the white nylon gear in this case are:

Inside diameter 14.5 mm

Outside diameter 22.5 mm

Width 10.0 mm

The nylon gear is press fitted onto a splined steel shaft. To remove the gear from the shaft you will need a piece of wood drilled with a five eighths of an inch (16 mm) diameter hole and at least three quarters inch (19mm) deep.

Remove the stripped gear

Center the shoulder of the the nylon gear over the hole and use a piece of wood to protect the steel shaft whilst carefully using a hammer to tap the steel shaft out of the nylon gear. Before removal it may be useful to cut right through the gear both sides, close to and parallel to the splines. The nylon gear is somewhat brittle and there may be traces of glue on one one side.

After the gear is removed, clean any trace of grease and glue from the steel shaft. The rubbery glue on the authors piece did not respond to mineral spirit so had to be scraped off.

Insert the new gear

Check the root dimension of the splines on the steel shaft matches the inside diameter of the nylon gear. Offer the gear to the shaft using the side of the gear which may have a slight taper on the edge of the hole. The splines have no leading taper either end. The angle of the gear teeth is correct which ever way round it is fitted.

Position the gear centrally over the hole in the wood. Using a small hammer carefully tap the steel shaft into the gear. Alternatively use a press. The steel is hard so careful light tapping with a hammer should not cause any deformation of the shaft, but the use of a small protective buffer or soft faced hammer when tapping is advised. You will need to tap around the periphery of the shaft to straighten it as it will tend to go in at an angle initially but become more aligned the further it enters. A number of small increments is better than large incrementas as this may cause jamming and damage to, or breakage of the gear. Tap or press the shaft in until it covers the splines equally on both sides. There will be some nylon particles ejected from the gear as the splilnes bit into it.

Reassemble the gearbox using lithium LM grease, or equivalent, on the gears. Glue may be required on the surface of the shaft if it passes through a roller bearing? Refit the gearbox. Before and during re-assembly of the seat mechansim you will need to ensure the two seat rails are at the same part of their travel so the seat does not try and skew at the end of the travel. The long thread screw which the seat runs along can be turned using a wrench on the bolt head under the plastic covers at the front of the seat. Note you may only be able to turn this one way – force in the wrong direction may damage the nylon gears.

If the gearbox on one side has failed and the seat has been operated to maximum, the seat runners may be distorted. Check for smooth running of the seat runners and that the two steel rollers are not twisting sideway in the slot and jamming at any point of travel. This could indicate a deformed runner track. You will need to straighten any deformation before continuing. Due to the design and spring of the metal you may find it difficult to return the runners to a good state, such that free travel exists at all points of the track.

Unimpeded running and good lubrication is essential to ensure the gears are not damaged during operation. There should be little resistance, at any part of the travel, when turning long seat runner screws manually when the runners are off the seat and gearboxes are not in place. Clean out all the accumulated dirt on the runners and mechanism and use plenty of grease at appropriate points on reassembly.

Nylon gears with dimensions as above are available from http://www.cruiserparts.net Description: Front Power Seat Track Gear only 93-97

Just to complicate matters what is generally referred to as the “bill” is actually the combination of two bills. The first is the Stop Online Piracy Act, which known as SOPA, that was introduced in the United States House of Representatives on 2011, by the House Judiciary Committee. The second sister legislation is called the Protect IP [Intellectual Property] Act, or PIPA, from a corresponding Senate bill,. Both are designed to tackle the growing problem of foreign based websites that promote and sell pirated movies, music and other media.

As originally proposed this would allow the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as the copyright holders, to seek a court order against websites which are accused of enabling or facilitating copyright infringement. Depending if the Department of Justice or the copyright holder makes the request, the court order could include the barring online advertising networks and financial facilitators from conducting any further business with the website e that has allegedly infringed copyright.

An important and often quoted parallel is the case of search engines; the legislation would only bar search engines from linking to such sites, and require Internet service providers (ISPs) to block access to such sites. The bill would criminalize unauthorized any streaming of copyrighted content by any media. The maximum penalty is five years in prison for ten such infringements within a period of six months. The bill also grants immunity to Internet services that voluntarily take action against websites dedicated to such types of infringement. The bill further makes provision making perpetrator liable for damages claims by the copyright holder.

Supporters of the bill claim it will comprehensively protect the intellectual property market and corresponding industry, jobs and revenue, and is necessary to bolster enforcement of existing copyright laws, especially against foreign websites.

Opponents of the bill claim that it violates the First Amendment, promotes censorship of the Internet and eventually will cripple the Internet in its current form. The opponents also claim that it will threaten the actions and anonymity of whistle blowers plus other actions targeted at the right of free speech. A number of protest actions have been organized, including petition drives and boycotting of businesses that support the proposed legislation. In January the English site of Wikipedia and several other internet companies coordinated a service blackout to protest SOPA and PIPA. Strangely though some versions of the same sites were still available to mobile browsers which were not blacked out, and by disabling browser Javascript or translating another language’s version of the site.

As some websites went dark to protest against the, some co-sponsors of the legislation in Congress announced they were withdrawing their support for the bills. Meanwhile another Senator urged that Congress should listen to the people and avoid rushing through a bill that could have many unintended consequences for the future.

Seattle was hit by a snowstorm on Sunday and continues to drop snow over many parts of the city. The National Weather Service reports that the storm could drop more snow on Wednesday making the heaviest fall in the area of Seattle in decades. The city was hit by that much snow in 1969, when over 14 inches of snow fell during a single day. This was followed by as much snow again in 1985, but in that year it fell during two different storms. By Wednesday it could be snowing everywhere over Seattle and this will not just be showers but heavy and widespread which will continue all day.

Metreology experts expect further falls in Western Washington and further south as far as Lake Tahoe in California. The snow-free ski slopes of Lake Tahoe have been a concern for the local economy. The California newspaper Sierra Sun reports that the local Native Americans have been performing the traditional “Round Dance” asking for snow. Meteorologists expect a snow fall of at least six feet in the mountains by Wednesday.

The winter this year has been far less snowy than in previous years. The National Weather Service, reports that nearly half the country was covered in an average of six inches of snow at the same time in 2011. This year, only 32 percent of the country has experienced snow on the ground, with an average snow depth of only two inches.

The Seattle Times reports residents should expect icy roads. Most of Seattle may be brought to a standstill but some drivers may still need to venture out so the following advice will prove useful for Seattle and other parts of the country:

Prepare your vehicle

Allow at least an extra 10 minutes to prepare the vehicle.

For adequate snow traction, a tire requires at least 6/32-inch deep tread. (New passenger vehicle tires usually have 10/32-inch of tread.) Performance “summer” tires have little or no grip in snow. Even “all-season” tires don’t necessarily have great snow traction. If you live where the roads are regularly covered with snow, use snow tires, which are sometimes called “winter tires” by tire makers. They usually have a “snowflake on the mountain” symbol on the sidewall, meaning they meet a tire-industry standard for snow traction.

Use your headlights so that others will see you. Make sure your headlights and taillights are clear of snow. Clean your lights of any salt and dirt deposits as this can restrict the light output more that you think and you may need every “lumen” that that you can get.

Clear all windows of snow and ice using deicer and a scraper. Use a good quality deicer as some inferior products will cause refreezing or patchy clearing. Do not use antifreeze designed for the vehicle cooling system as this will most probably take the paint off. Do not drive with just a tiny hole cleared in the windscreen. Do not under any circumstance use hot water to clear vehicle windows. It may cause cracking and breakage or leave stress in the glass which could cause failure later. A partially icy or dirty windscreen will severely restrict your vision as soon as the rays of a low sun fall on it.

Replace suspect windshield wiper blades. Do not attempt to operate the windshield wipers until the blades are free and not stuck to the glass by ice. Operation in this state may cause the blades to rip or even worse allow the blade to move off the parked position and then jam leading the motor burning out. Turn off at the ignition switch if this happens. Beware the wipers being left switched on from last night. Do not try to clear ice from the windshield with the wipers as this will degrade the rubber.

Clean the inside of your windows thoroughly. Apply a water-shedding material (such as Rain-X) to the outside of all windows, including the mirrors, this will help the problem of moisture forming and turning to ice. In order to remove condensation and frost from the interior of vehicle windows, engage your air conditioner and select the fresh air option. It’s fine to set the temperature on “hot.” Many vehicles automatically do this when you choose the defrost setting. Direct the cabin side air vents sideways and up on to the side windows. The inbuilt side window vents (if fitted) do not normally have enough flow to clear the window under extreme conditions.

Ensure the washer reservoir is full as salty water drying on the windscreen can demand copious quantities of fluid to clear it. The winter proportion of water to washer fluid should be maintained.

Check the roof for snow before you drive. It can slip down over the windscreen and obscure your view during braking or on a slope. Also the blanket of snow can slide off into the path of a following vehicle. Use a cigarette lighter to warm a key for a frozen lock. Do not breathe on the lock, as the moisture will condense and freeze. Carry an emergency kit comprising a cell phone (with fully charged battery), torch, first-aid kit, tow rope, blankets, warm coat and boots, jump leads, snow shovel, warning triangle, an old sack or rug and water repellent spray. Also add a vacuum flask containing a hot drink and high energy snacks. This little bundle could save your life.

Wear comfortable, dry shoes, as cumbersome, snow-covered boots will slip on the pedals.

Plan routes to favor major routes which are more likely to have been gritted.

Snow chains will increase the amount of grip you have on snow and ice, but you must remove them when not needed. They are generally limited to speeds below 30 mph.

If you need towing, you may regret not bringing a tow rope. Also remember your vehicle is probably provided with towing eyes Sometime located under a small (usually square) cover.

Put safety before punctuality when driving in any bad weather. While it’s always a good idea to allow extra time in winter for your journey, drivers must accept the inevitability of being late for work or appointments if they are caught up in an unexpected delay. After all the others may be late as well.

Driving in snow and ice

Driving in snow and ice is much about predicting the actions of other road users. Watch the behavior of oncoming traffic; you may have to avoid them if they slide towards you unexpectedly. Fully expect other road users to be unable to stop at junctions or lose control. Vehicles approaching a narrowing of the road uphill, will not want to stop in case they can’t start again. Vehicles approaching downhill may be unable to stop without skidding. The further people travel in icy conditions the more complacency sets in.

Try to leave a 10 second gap between you and the car in front. The 10 second gap allows you an increased stopping distance, and gives you time to respond if the vehicle in front has problems. If they stop or encounter some problem, you may have time and the space to steer a different course, or by slowing down you can allow time for the obstruction to clear without having to stop and restart yourself. If the vehicle behind you is too close, find a good place to stop and let them go on ahead. Stopping distances can be up to ten times longer in ice and snow.

Unlike snow, ice is often invisible. You have to apply guesswork and experience as to where it waits. Look for reflections in the road surface ahead; what looks like water, may be ice. If the swishing sound of your tires on a wet road goes quiet, you may be on ice. Bright sun and a warm wind can quickly thaw ice, but leave patches in sheltered areas, so be vigilant where a wall casts a shadow over the road – it can be a dramatic short lived change. Watch for water flows from previously melting snow as it may have refrozen.

If you travel a route regularly, note where water normally lies on the road and may subsequently freeze. Road bridges freeze first because they are cooled from below. One of the first signs of slippery conditions is if the steering becomes lighter. The normal tendency of the steering to self-center when you let go of the wheel becomes less powerful when the front wheels lose grip. If you are aware of this effect, you can feel the reduced resistance to your steering wheel movements as the road becomes slippery.

If your vehicle skids, turn the steering wheel into the direction of the skid. Make the reaction quick but not extreme as the vehicle may snap out of the original skid directly into another skid in the opposite direction. When the vehicle straightens carefully steer back to your intended course. Don’t brake – it will just lock up your wheels and you will skid further. Reduce your risk of skidding by reducing your speed; too much power is often the source of problems in snow and ice. Do not ask your tires to steer and brake at the same time. They have to share the available grip between those two functions, so either one detracts from the tire’s ability to do the other. Gentle actions are the key to safe driving. Always apply brakes gently.

If you have ABS braking, it will automatically release the brakes momentarily, and then re-apply them to keep the wheels revolving enough for you to steer. If you drive on icy roads or roads that are covered with snow, modify your ABS technique: After you press the brake pedal and the ABS begins cycling — you will feel pulses in the pedal or hear the system working — ease up slightly on the pedal until the pulsing happens only once a second. But remember ABS on some systems stop working below about 4mph, so progressively lift off the brakes as you come to rest. Otherwise you may continue to slide slowly and gracefully into an obstacle.

For vehicles without ABS braking, you’ll have to rely on the old-fashioned cadence braking system. On a mixed surface slippery road, push the brake pedal hard until the wheels stop rolling, then immediately release the brake enough to allow the wheels to begin turning again. Repeat this sequence rapidly. This is not the same as “pumping the brake”, you need to use feedback. Your goal is to have the tires producing maximum grip regardless of whether the surface is snow, ice or damp pavement. Practice this before the emergency.
4×4 four wheel drive vehicles may be able keep going in slippery conditions, but their brakes are no better than an ordinary vehicle and being heavier, they tend to have longer stopping distances – even in good conditions.

The handbrake only works on the rear wheels on most vehicles. For this reason you can use gentle handbrake pressure to retain steering control whilst slowing the vehicle. But you must be careful to do this only at very slow speed and do it gently to avoid locking the rear wheels – or they may slide sideways. It is not easy to sense how well the handbrake is working.

It will be difficult to control your vehicle if the wheels are spinning as you pull away. Start off in second gear to avoid spinning the wheels. Accelerate gently and change up early. If the wheels start to spin, you may instinctively accelerate to keep your forward momentum but that is the wrong thing to do. Spinning wheels have less traction than wheels that are engaged with the snow. Gently lift off the gas until the wheels grip again, and then gently accelerate. If you keep spinning the wheels where the road slopes to the side, you will slide sideways and risk hitting an obstacle, or another vehicle.

Slow down to the right speed before you get to a corner. Perform downshift gear changes while you are traveling in a straight line, then the all the grip of your tires can be used for steering round the corner. Accelerate gently as leave the corner. Try to maintain a constant speed, choosing the most suitable gear in advance to avoid having to change down while climbing a hill. When driving downhill, choose third or fourth gear to act as a constant gentle brake and prevent skidding.

Beware of a build up of ice and snow under the wheel arches. This can often form an unexpected obstruction to steering.

Front wheel drive cars will sometimes climb an icy slope better in reverse gear as the front wheels (now the rear) are are benefiting from the weight of additional downward force through acceleration weight transfer. This unlikely approach also means that if you fail to climb the slope, and run out of traction, you are at least facing the right way to control your descent back to the bottom of the hill. This avoids the problem that if you fail to climb up a steep snowy slope in the normal forwards direction, you can find yourself sliding down hill backwards with all the consequences of trying to steer in reverse. The reduced visibility and awkwardness of reversing means that this method should only be tried if you are sure about the intentions of other traffic and have plenty of room.

If you do get stuck in snow, straighten the steering and clear as much snow from the wheels as you can. Put a sack or old rug under the driving wheels in the direction you want to move, to give the tires some grip. Rock the vehicle back and forwards by selecting a forward then reverse gear in a cyclical action to gain momentum and lift the vehicle out of the rut. Once on the move again, try not to stop until you reach firmer ground.

If your are unfortunate enough to get stuck in a drift use any available material to keep warm Only run the engine for short periods to keep warm if you have to. But be aware that carbon monoxide from exhaust gases can take effect without warning and kills. Stay with the vehicle unless you are absolutely sure that safety is within reach. It will be far easier for rescuers to find a vehicle on a road that a person in a field. If you do leave your vehicle, try and leave it where it won’t be a problem to other traffic and snow ploughs.

If the unthinkable happens remember that seatbelts and frontal airbags work much better in a frontal impact, and many cars don’t have side-impact airbags.

Driving an automatic in winter

Under normal driving conditions (freeways, etc) it is best to select ‘Drive’ and let the gearbox do the work throughout the full gear range.

In slippery, snowy conditions you can make driving much safer by selecting ’2′, which limits the gear changes and also makes you less reliant on the brakes.

Many modern autos have a ‘Winter’ mode which locks out first gear to reduce the risk of wheel spin. Check the handbook if you’re not sure.

Technology and adverse conditions

Technology offers no miracles despite manufacturers claims. All-wheel drive and electronic stability control can get you out of trouble and into trouble by offering a false sense of security. AWD can only help a vehicle accelerate or keep moving: It cannot help you go around a snow covered corner, much less stop at an icy intersection. ESC can prevent a tire spin, but it cannot clear ice from the roads or give your tires more traction. Don’t let these lull you into overestimating the available traction.

Regardless of your experience, driving skill, vehicle or vehicle preparation, there are some winter conditions that can’t be conquered. But these tips may help prevent snowy and icy roads from ruining your day or life.

The well known celebrity chef star Paula Deen has announced that she was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2008. The Food Network star runs a kitchen with a past reputation for showcasing fatty, buttery and the over-the-top cooking. And while Paula Deen has confirmed her commitment to creating decadent recipes she also adds that they should be tried in moderation and offers diet advice to fellow diabetic sufferers through her website

Elsewhere, advice is given that the consumption of sweet confectionary should be avoided by people with diabetes. The latest thinking is that this is longer correct. The carbohydrates in confectionary may raise glucose levels as much as a similar amount of starch.

Consuming the occasional, small cookie is not normally harmful, but having a sugar free dessert every day may cause problems. It is not widely known that some desserts are made with a certain types of artificial sweetener which are based on sugar alcohols. These sugar alcohols can stimulate a rise in blood sugar levels, though to a lower level than real sugar. Advice from the American Diabetes Association recommends restricting the intake of all foods that contain more than five grams of sugar alcohols.

Advice is often given that diabetics must have a snack with high sugar content available at all times, in case of a hypoglycaemic state. That advice may be based on older medications that have been used by diabetics to treat high blood glucose levels. The latest generation of medicines should easily be able to bring blood glucose levels within a healthy range without over compensating into a sugar low.

Snacking between meals can lead to a tendency to overeat as the cumulative effect of a number of small snacks is often overlooked. There is nothing wrong with healthy snacking as long as it is just content that is healthy and not just based the concept of a number of small snacks being better, which can lead to overeating.

Your line of thinking should revolve more around exercise than less food. Exercise will assist you to burn up glucose. The effects of a burst of exercise will persist for up to twenty four hours and have the effect of decreasing insulin resistance, lower blood pressure and improve your levels of what is termed as good cholesterol (HDL – High-density lipoprotein).

Good cholesterol may help to remove the walls of blood vessels, clearing out excess cholesterol. The excess static cholesterol may have gone on to have been used to make the plaques that cause coronary artery disease, instead it is circulated back to the liver for processing and excreting. When we measure a person’s HDL cholesterol level, may be measuring how vigorously their blood vessels are being cleaned of cholesterol.

HDL cholesterol levels below 40 mg/dL (milligrams per decilitre) may result in an increased risk of coronary artery disease, even in people whose total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels are normal. HDL cholesterol levels between 40 and 60 mg/dL are considered as normal. However, HDL cholesterol levels greater than 60 mg/dL may actually protect people from heart disease.

Regular aerobic exercise, such as walking, that raises your heart rate for 20 to 30 minutes at a time) may be the most effective way to increase HDL cholesterol levels. Recent evidence suggests that the duration of any exercise, rather than the intensity of exercise, is a more important factor in raising HDL cholesterol.

Obesity can result in not only in increased LDL cholesterol, but also in a reduced level of HDL cholesterol. Reducing your weight should increase your HDL levels. This is especially important if your excess weight has concentrated around your abdominal area. The waist to hip ratio is particularly important in determining whether you ought to lose weight.

According to the American Heart Association high blood pressure, high cholesterol and lack of physical activity increase this risk of a heart attack or stroke even more; and diabetics may be two to four times more likely to have a heart attack or stroke.

Diabetics should adopt a lifestyle which improves their diets and exercise patterns. A type two diabetes diagnosis is an indication that the need is urgent. Remember, you should seek qualified medical advice before any change of diet and lifestyle if you have a medical condition.

Here are ten tips to help you create a productive and memorable college experience and to enjoy this unique time in your life. They encompass all aspects of college life and cover time management, goals, allocating load, interaction with staff, memory techniques and leisure. Work through the tips and apply them to and make your college eductation stress free and easy.

1. Answer the question, “Why am I going to college?”

Many college students really do not have a clear reason for being there other than the fact that they do not know what else to do yet. They may have defaulted to the expected norm. They inherit goals from family and peers which are not truly their own. Is this you?

You must move from the position of having no direction. What are your goals now and when you leave college? Why are you there? If you do not know then you do not have a focal point for your experience. You may as well not even be there. What is it about your experience that resonates as true for you? What are you there to learn? What do you want to experience?

2. Imagine your ideal college experience.

Once you know why you are going to college, imagine your ideal outcome. Let it flow outward from the reason you are there. Whether you have already started college or not, stop right now and simply write down some attributes of your ideal experience. Describe it in as much detail as you can.

Spend time visualizing the kind of experience you want to have. See yourself being challenged but managing it easily and without stress. See yourself making new friends. See yourself having a really great time. Imagine a very balanced experience — a blend of academics, activities, socialization, and fun. The keyword to use is “richness.”

This is a really important step. You may not understand the mechanism at this time, but you are pre-programming yourself to succeed. You will become a co-creator of your experience instead of a passive victim of it.

Visualization allows you to make mistakes in advance. If you cannot get a clear visualization, your experience is likely to be just as fuzzy. Debug your visualization until it inspires you.

Real life will of course turn out differently than you visualize. The point of visualization is not to predict the future or to restrict your freedom to decide later. The point is to give you more clarity for making decisions right now. Your ideal scene serves as a map that can guide you through the quagmire of options.

3. Take at least one extra class each semester.

Students are taught that twelve to fifteen semester units (three to five classes) is a “full” schedule. But a schedule that light is hardly full. A person with a full time job will put in a good forty plus hours per week, and students enjoy every possible vacation day plus spring break, winter break, and summer vacation. If you want to spend four or more years in college, add more degrees or get a job on the side. Do not feel you have to go at a snail’s pace just because everyone else does.

Now you might be thinking that twelve to fifteen units are supposed to equate to a forty hour week with all the outside homework and studying, but that is only going to happen if you do things very inefficiently (which sadly is what most people do). If you follow some of the time saving tips later in this article, then fifteen units should only require a few additional hours outside of class to complete assignments. You will succeed by overworking yourself.

If you are an above average student, you can certainly handle an above average schedule. Sometimes we do not know what we can handle until we push ourselves a little. If you think you can handle fifteen units, take eighteen to twenty. You can easily shave a year off your schedule. Or you may be able to add a minor or a double major.

What about prerequisites? For the most part you may simply ignore them, and fortunately at many schools they are not enforced too well. Most of the time a prerequisite is listed; it is geared towards below average students. Do not let pointless bureaucracy slow you down if you want to graduate sooner. There is always a way around it — it is usually just a matter of getting some random form signed by someone who is too bored to care either way. A smile and a compliment go a long way.

By the law of forced efficiency, if you put more things on your plate, you will find a way to get them done with the time you have available. So if you do not challenge yourself a little, that extra time will slip through your fingers.

The real benefit to a dense schedule is not that you will graduate sooner. The real benefit is that you will enjoy a richer experience. If you take five classes instead of four means it more learning, more achievement, and more friends. And what employer would not be attracted to a student who graduated more quickly than their peers? This sort of thing sure looks great on a resume.

4. Set clear goals for each class.

Decide what you want out of each specific class. Is this a subject you are eager to learn? Do you want to target this teacher for a letter of recommendation? Is this a required class you must take but which does not otherwise interest you?

Your goals for each class will determine how often you show up, whether you will sit in the front or the back, how actively you will participate, and what kind of relationship you will seek to establish with the teacher.

For some classes you may want to master the material. For others you may just want an A grade. And for others you may want to set yourself up for glowing letters of recommendations from enthusiastic teachers.

This is not about manipulating your professors into lying on your behalf. The simple truth is that the quality of a letter of recommendation ultimately comes down to how much a teacher respects you. A lack of respect will always show as insincere words. Do not put yourself in the desperate situation of having to request a letter of recommendation from a teacher who does not even remember you — or worse, one who thinks poorly of you. Set yourself up for success in advance.

Sometimes you will have teachers who are pointless. You may decide to avoid their classes often and learn the material from a textbook. Obviously you will not seek out their assistance later on.

Sometimes you will achieve your goals; sometimes you will not. Even if you do your best, you may still fall short. You may encounter teachers that are unfair, lazy, sexist, racist, or otherwise incompetent. You will have to pick your battles; some are worth fighting and others are best ignored. Having clear goals will help you decide which is which.

5. Triage ruthlessly.

You do not need to put an equal amount of effort into every class. Inject extra effort when it is important to you, but feel free to back off a little from classes that are a low priority based on your specific goals. This is an important way to conserve energy. You cannot play full in every class, or you would eventually burn out, so invest your energy where it matters most.

In every student’s schedule, some classes are critical while others are almost trivial. In a typical week, you can usually ditch around some classes because you do not need to be there. For some classes attendance is necessary, but for others it does not make much difference. You can simply get the notes from another student if needed, or can learn the material from the textbook. If it is not necessary for you to attend a particular class (based on your goals for that class), you may consider ditching it. That can save you a lot of time and keep you from having to sit in class all day long.

You should also triage individual assignments. If you feel an assignment is lame, pointless, or unnecessarily tedious, and if it would not have too negative an impact on your grade, you may actually decline to do it.

Sometimes teachers get a little too homework happy and hand out assignments that really do not justify the effort – it is your life not theirs. You are in charge of your academic experience though, not your teachers. Do not feel you must do every assignment just because the teacher feels it is a good idea, they are not perfect. You must be the judge in accordance with your own reasons for being there. Just be sure to consider the consequences of your decision.

By stealing time from low priority assignments, you are able to invest more time in the real gems. Some creative assignments will teach you a great deal. Some people hate group projects, but there may be particular group projects where the team really gels and you enjoy it tremendously and learn a lot from it.

A cool triage technique is timeboxing. Decide how much time the assignment warrants, and then do the best job you can within the allotted time. So if you have to write a ten page research page on American history, you might devote eight hours to it in total. Slice up the eight hours into topic selection, planning, library research, outlining, writing, and editing, and then do your best to stay within those times. This is a great way to keep you from overdoing an assignment that does not need it.

In a way this is your own academic load balancing. Some of your assignments will be unbalanced in the sense that they seem to require an unreasonable amount of effort compared to how much of your grade they represent or how much you expect to benefit from completing them. Sometimes you may decide that the effort to write an A-paper just is not warranted. Maybe you estimate it would take you twenty hours to do an A job but only ten hours to do a B job. And if the assignment was only ten per cent of your grade, perhaps you could accept a B there. Often to your surprise you will find that your B quality papers will come back with A’s anyway.

6. Get an early start to each day.

Practice becoming an early riser. This does not mean 5am, but usually around 6-7am. An early start each day will help you to get a lot more done, not just in the morning but throughout the day. Began each day with a short run, follow this with a shower and breakfast. Do not skip breakfast as you need the reserves to avoid a lull in your energy later in the morning, if not the whole day. This simple morning routine will get you out the door feeling alert and energized.

No one gets up early because they want to. It is really out of necessity. Even if you hate morning classes, you may find that you are a lot more productive if you schedule them anyway.

7. Reclaim wasted time during your classes.

Not every class is going to require your utmost concentration. Sometimes teachers babble. Sometimes they reiterate what you already know. Establish what percentage of class time require your complete, focused attention? For some classes it is less than one hundred per cent. For others it is much closer to twenty per cent. If you are not actively learning during class, you are wasting time. If a class is really challenging, sit in the front and soak up every word and write it down. But if a class is not challenging you, then sit in the back, do homework for other classes, and pop your head up every once in a while to see if there is anything worth jotting down. Always have a book open, so when your professor goes off on yet another nostalgia trip, you will have something productive to do.

This is a surprisingly great cure for boredom. If the professor is droning on and putting everyone to sleep, you can be working on other assignments.

You will be amazed at how much time you can free up using this method. You will be able to complete the bulk of your assignments in class, but usually not in the classes in which the tasks were assigned. If you are in school right now, see how much extra homework you can complete during your normal class time today. Then estimate how many hours you will save every week from this practice. It really adds up.

You cannot concentrate at peak efficiency continuously, so be sure to take breaks. When you need a break though, take a real break. Meditate or nap on the grass between classes in order to recharge your batteries. Use your wristwatch or phone alarm to signal when it is time to get up and go again. These breaks are very restorative, and you can go to the next class and work full out once again. Never work flat out all day long. Work in waves between total concentration and total relaxation, cycling many times per day.

8. Learn material the very first time it is presented.

One of the biggest time wasters in school is your having to relearn something you did not learn properly the first time. When students say they are studying, most of the time they are making up for a previous failure to learn the material.

In software development it is well known that bugs should be fixed as soon as possible after they are introduced. Waiting to fix a bug near the end of a project can take fifty times as much effort as it would take to fix the bug the first time it was noticed. Failing to learn what you are supposedly taught each day is a serious bug. Do not try to pile new material on top of an unstable foundation, since it will take even more time to rebuild it later.

If you do not understand something you were taught in class today, treat it as a bug that must be fixed as soon as possible – no exceptions. Do not put it off. Do not pile new material on top of it. If you do not understand a word, a concept, or a lesson, then drop everything and do whatever it takes to learn it before you continue on. Ask questions in class, get a fellow student to explain it to you, read and re-read the textbook, and/or visit the professor during office hours, but learn it no matter what.

There may be a couple topics you fid incomprehensible when they are first introduced. Many of your classmates may find them confusing too, so do not always assume you are alone, check with them and bring the subject up with the teacher. Students who allow their confusion to linger find themselves becoming more and more lost as the course progresses, and cramming at the end can never bestow complete comprehension. Just like programming bugs, confusion multiplies if left untreated, so stamp it out as early as possible. If you are confused about anything you are being taught, you have got a bug that needs fixing. Do not move on until you can honestly say to yourself, “Yes, I understand that… what’s next?”

Ideally there should be no need to study outside of class, at least in the sense of relearning material you did not learn the first time. You can review old material to refresh your memory, but you should not have to devote a minute of your time to learning something that was taught a month or two earlier.

If you follow this regime then during finals you will probably be the least-stressed student of all. You should not have to study hard now because by the time the final exam comes up, in your mind the course is already over. While everyone else is cramming, you can be spending leisure time. At most you will just spend some time reviewing your notes to refresh the material the night before the test. Isn’t this how academic learning is supposed to work? Otherwise what is the point of showing up to class for an entire semester?

During each semester ask yourself this question: Are you ready to be tested right now on everything that has been taught up to this point? If your answer is ever “no,” then you know you are falling behind, and you need to catch up immediately. Ideally you should be able to answer “yes” to this question at least once a week for every subject.

Falling behind even a little is an enormous source of stress and a time waster. First, you have to go back and re-learn the old material when the rest of the class has already moved on. Secondly, you may not learn the new material as well if it builds on the old material because you lack a solid foundation, so you just end up falling further and further behind. Then when you come to the end of the semester, you end up having to re-learn everything you were supposed to learn. But because you cram at the last minute, after finals you forget everything anyway.

Put in the effort to learn your material well enough to get A’s in all your classes. It will pay off. Much of the material you learn will build on earlier material. If you get A’s in your freshman courses, you will be well prepared to pile on new material in your sophomore year. But if you get C’s that first year, you are already going into your second year with an unstable foundation, making it that much harder to bring your grades up and really master the material. Make straight A’s your goal every semester. In the long run, it is much easier. C students tend to work a lot harder, especially in their junior and senior years, because they are always playing catch up. Despite your packed schedule, it should not be stressful for you because you have kept on top of every subject. Consequently, you will have plenty of time for fun while other students experience lots of stress because they constantly feel unprepared.

9. Master advanced memory techniques.

One of the keys to learning material the first time it is taught is to train yourself in advanced memory techniques. You can use them often in classes that require rote memorization of certain facts, including names, dates, and mathematical formulas. If a teacher writes something on the board that has to be memorized verbatim for an upcoming exam, you must memorize it then and there. Then you will not have to go back and study it later.

You may have encountered simple mnemonic techniques such as using the phrase “Every good boy does fine” to memorize the musical notes E, G, B, D, and F. Those kinds of tricks work well in certain situations, but they are so grammar school. There are far more efficient visual techniques. Two good methods are chaining and pegging.

It is beyond the scope of this article to explain these techniques in detail, but you can find plenty of books on memory improvement.

These techniques will allow you to memorize information very rapidly. For example, with pegging you can usually memorize a list of about twenty items in about ninety seconds with perfect recall even weeks later. Experts at this are much faster. Anyone can do it — it is just a matter of training yourself.

Chaining allows you to memorize your speeches visually. When you give a speech, your imagination runs through the visual movie you have created while you select words on the fly to fit the images. It is like narrating a movie. Your speech is not memorized word for word, so it sounds natural and spontaneous and can be adapted on the fly to fit the situation. Memorizing visually is much faster and more robust than trying to memorize words. If you memorize a speech word for word and forget a line, it can really throw you off and you will struggle to catch where you were. But with a series of images, it is easier to jump ahead to the next frame if you make a mistake. Our brains are better suited to visualize memorization than phonetic memorization.

It is not recommend you memorize by repetition because it is way too slow. Pegging and chaining do not require repetition — they allow you to embed strong memories on a single pass, usually in seconds. The downside is that pegging and chaining require a lot of up-front practice to master, but once you learn them, these are valuable skills you will have for life. These techniques seem to improve your memory as a whole, even when you are not actively trying to memorize. This practice trains your subconscious to store and recall information more effectively.

It is a shame these techniques are not normally taught in school. They would save students an enormous amount of time. Do yourself a favor and learn them while you are young. They have a lot of practical applications, including remembering people’s names. This will aid you greatly in later life as there is nothing so important to a person that their name and forgetting it will do you a great disservice.

10. Have some serious fun!

Challenge yourself academically, but give yourself plenty of time for fun as well. Do not squander your leisure time hanging around doing nothing. Go out and do something active that will let off steam and increase your energy.

One of the biggest regrets of some students is devoting all their time to studying and not having a partner during that time. You may opt to add an extra semester and take fewer classes to make time for that someone special. After all they may become that confidant who you lean on to get you through the whole learning process.

This article’s advice centers on making your college experience as rich and memorable as possible. Get your school work done quickly and efficiently, so you have plenty of time for the variety of activities a college can offer. Join clubs. Play games. Get a partner. The worst thing you can do is spend your time falling behind academically due to poor habits, feeling stressed and unprepared all the time, and then playing catch up. Squeeze as much juice out of college as you can, and let it serve as a springboard to a lifetime of fulfilment.

People often assume your aggressive schedule must have been stressful and exhausting, but the irony is that it may have been just the opposite. Students with lighter schedules may slack off and fall behind because they convinced themselves they could make up for it later. But you cannot afford to do that because it will be impossible for you to catch up on a dozen different classes, and way too stressful to even think about it. If you fall even a week behind, you will be in serious trouble. So develop good habits that kept you perpetually relaxed, focused, and energized. Many of the habits discussed above are simply the result of setting the goal to graduate in three semesters. That goal will dictate the process.

The experience will show you just how much more effective you can be when you push yourself beyond your comfort zones. It will teach you to keep setting goals beyond what you feel certain you can accomplish. Many times what we assume to be impossible just is not. We only think it is.

Our relationships are among of the most complex aspects of our human existence, particularly a long term relationships such as marriage. Your relationships can elevate you to new levels or throw you down into the depths of despair.

But what if you are somewhere in the middle?

What if your relationship is good? Should you stay, openly committing to that relationship for life? Or should you leave and look for something better, something that could become even better? This is a most difficult decision.

Having simultaneous, conflicting feelings toward a person is a bad state to be in. You simply are not sure one way or the other. Maybe what you have is good enough and you would be a fool to abandon it in search of a new relationship you may never find. Or maybe you are seriously holding yourself back from finding a truly fulfilling relationship that could serve you well the rest of your life.

The wrong way to proceed is to use a balance scale approach, attempting to weigh the pros and cons of staying versus leaving. Weighing the pros and cons seems logical at first glance, but it does not provide you with the right kind of information you need to make this decision. The cons tell you to leave, while the pros tell you to stay. Plus you are required to predict future pros and cons, so how are you going to predict the future of your relationship? Who is to say if your problems are temporary or permanent?

One solution is to dump the balance scale approach and use a diagnostic approach instead. Diagnose the true status of your relationship instead of trying to weigh it on a scale. This will provide you the information you need to make an intelligent decision and to know precisely why you are making it. If you are ambivalent, it normally means your relationship is not good. So discovering the precise nature of the problem is the most an intelligent place to begin.

In order to perform a relationship diagnosis, you will need to ask yourself a series of questions.

Each question is like passing your relationship through a filter. If you pass the filter, you proceed to the next question. If you do not pass the filter, then the recommendation is that you end your relationship. In order to achieve the recommendation that you should stay together, you must pass through all the filters. If even one filter trips you, the recommendation may be to leave.

This is not as brutal as it may sound because most of these filters will be very easy for you to pass. Hopefully you can pass filters like, “Does your partner beat you?” and “Is your partner leaving the country for good without you?” without much trouble. If not, you do not really need someone to tell you your relationship is going downhill.

This concept is extremely valuable, like being able to turn the pages of time to see what might happen. What about a relationship with someone you do not respect? What about a long-distance relationship? Or a relationship with a workaholic who makes ten times your income? Would you like to know how such relationships tend to work out if the couple stays together versus a break up?

Often where the decision tends towards a break up, it is because most people who chose to stay together in that situation were unhappy, while most people who left were happier for it. So long term happiness is the key criteria used, meaning the happiness of the individual making the stay or leave decision, not the partner.

Here are some diagnostic points you may find valuable, but you should sit down and compile others based on what you now understand about the process. The questions that you ask yourself about the relationship should concentrate on the basic premise that you should be happy in the relationship with no doubts.

If some divine being told you it was OK to leave your relationship, would you feel relieved that you could finally leave? If your religion is the only reason you are still together, your relationship may already long dead. Drop the self-torturing beliefs and choose happiness. Living together physically but not in your heart is not going to fool any divine being anyway, nor is it likely to fool anyone else around you. Leave the hypocrisy behind, and take off.

Are you able to get your needs met in the relationship without too much difficulty? If it takes too much effort to get your needs met, then your relationship is doing you more harm than good. Leave.

Do you genuinely like your partner, and does your partner seem to genuinely like you? If you do not mutually like each other, you do not belong together.

Do you feel a unique sexual attraction to your partner? If there is no spark, there is no point in staying.

Does your partner exhibit any behavior that makes the relationship too difficult for you to stay in, and do you find your partner is either unwilling or incapable of changing? Results matter far more than intentions. If your partner behaves in a way that is intolerable to you, then permanent change is a must, or you need to leave. Example: “Quit smoking for good in thirty days, or I’m gone.” Trying to tolerate the intolerable will only erode your self-esteem, and You will have see yourself as stronger in the past than in the present.

Do you see yourself when you look in your partner’s eyes? A metaphor… if you do not sense a strong compatibility with your partner, you are better off with someone else.

Do you and your partner each respect each other as individuals? No mutual respect means it is time to leave.

Does your partner serve as an important resource for you in a way that you care about? If your partner does little to enhance your life and you wouldn’t lose anything important to you by leaving, then leave. You will have break even by being on your own and gain tremendously by finding someone else who is a resource to you.

Does your relationship demonstrated the capacity for forgiveness? If you cannot forgive each other’s transgressions, then resentment will gradually replace love. Leave.

Do you and your partner have fun together? A relationship that is no fun is dead. Leave.

Do you and your partner have mutual goals and dreams for your future together? If you are not planning to spend your future together, something’s terribly wrong. Take off.

If you had only months to live? What would you do with the rest of your life. Would this trigger you to leave the relationship to do the things you really wanted to do.

These questions drive home the point that a relationship should enhance your life, never drain it. At the very least, you should be happier in the relationship than outside of it. Even if a break up leads to a messy divorce with complex custody arrangements, this can still lead to long-term happiness whereas staying in a defunct relationship almost surely prevents it.

Some of the diagnostic points might seem overly harsh in terms of recommending; leaving in situations you might find salvageable. A relationship, however, requires the effort and commitment of both partners. One person cannot carry it alone. Even though you might come through with a miraculous save, such attempts are usually doomed to failure, and even where they succeed, they may take such a tremendous toll on both of you that you ultimately feel they weren’t worth the effort. You could be much happier in a new relationship or living alone, instead of investing so much time trying to save a relationship that is pulling you down. You will have do a lot more good giving yourself to someone who is more receptive to what you have to offer and who genuinely appreciates you for it. If you are spending your relationship fighting resistance more than sharing love, you are probably better off letting it go and embracing a relationship that will provide greater mutual rewards for less work.

You may find it revealing to apply these diagnostic questions to a broader set of human relationships, such as your relationships with your boss and co-workers. Mutual respect, fun, shared goals, tolerable behavior, getting your needs met, etc. all apply perfectly well to career oriented relationships. For example, if your boss avoids you when you try to discuss your future with the company, this could be a very bad sign for one of you.

Do not confuse the question of whether or not you should leave your current relationship with how you might find a new relationship. If it is clear in your mind that your current relationship should end, then end it. Once you are on your own again, then you can develop or redevelop the skills needed to attract a new partner. It is unlikely you will be in a place to assess your chances of entering a new relationship while you are still in your current relationship. For one, people around you will perceive you as unavailable while you are still in a relationship, so you will not be able to get a clear sense of where you stand until you are free of that.

A proper diagnosis may also convince you that your relationship is indeed too good to leave. That situation may last your entire life, or it may change at some point. You cannot control all the variables. But at least you will have a method for deciding if you can commit to your relationship in the present moment or if you should be making plans to end it.

Whatever your decision it is important to realise that it is your decision and no one else’s view of the ultimate situation should impinge on your new life.

What role does polarity play in health oriented intentions such as your desire to lose weight? Does polarity have a practical application in your quest to engage the Law of Attraction to lose weight? Find out if you can apply manifestation to successfully weight loss.

So you form an intention that you weigh two hundred and thirty eight pounds.

What is the polarity of such an intention? Is this a love-based (out flowing) intention or a fear-based (inflowing) intention?

It is a fear-polarized intention.

Polarity applies only to a thought’s energy, not its content. So the mere text of a thought does not dictate the thought’s polarity. It is an empty intention as there is not enough information to determine the polarity.

The specific words you use to phrase an intention do not matter much compared to the energy you put into the thought. An intention like “I weigh two hundred and thirty eight pounds” can be either polarity or it can be neutral. At the end of the day it depends on why you want to lose weight..

Do you want to lose weight because you will gain more energy to serve others (love)? Or do you want to lose weight because you’ll gain more energy to pursue your self-centered goals (fear)?

Maybe you want to lose weight because it will help you attract a mate. But do you want to attract a mate because you want to express your love with someone on a very deep level (love/outflow)? Or are you mostly afraid of being alone (fear/inflow)?

Our true motivations for an intention can be very complex. You might have a dozen valid reasons for wanting to lose weight. But ultimately when you keep asking, “Why do I want this?” and trace each reason to its source, you will end up with a combination of love and fear based motives. Either you want something because of your desire to express love, or you want it because of your desire to allay your fears.

This whole notion of polarization tells us that the more polarized your intention is (either pure love or pure fear but not both), the more easily it will manifest.

Fear and love are very powerful motivators, but when you mix them together, they dilute each other and you fail. Intentions of mixed polarity may possibly work, but. fully polarized intentions must work.

Suppose you are a dedicated to the cultivation of inner presence and the elevation of awareness in self and other people; someone who is love-polarized. And you realize that you need to lose some weight. Your motivation to lose that weight will ultimately come from your commitment to serving the greater good – not self centered. Since we all serve as role models for each other, you would want to serve as a positive role model for others. You would also want to have abundant energy available for fulfilling your purpose. You would also want to feel good about your body, so you can help others feel good about their bodies too. The fitness level you achieve for yourself is driven by your desire to serve and inspire others. This is a very powerful motivator for someone who is truly love-polarized.

Now suppose you are a only looking to serve yourself, someone who is fear polarized, and you realize that you need to lose some weight. Your motivation to lose that weight will ultimately come from your commitment to serving your own self-interest. You could care less about being a role model for others, but this extra weight has to go because it is getting in the way of your goals. You need energy to achieve the success you crave, and a better looking body will make it easier to attract a mate to satisfy your lust. Weight loss may also help you advance in your career. Also, it is important to be more fit than those around you, since you are always in competition with them, and extra fitness will give you that edge. The fitness you achieve for yourself is driven entirely by your desire to serve your own needs. How fit or fat other people are is irrelevant to you, except to the extent that you look better by comparison. This is a very powerful motivator for someone who is truly fear polarized.

Now the interesting thing is that the two opposite types of people may go on exactly the same diet, adopt the same exercise program, and achieve a similar level of fitness within the same timeframe. But they will each be doing it for very different reasons. One is driven by the desire to serve and inspire others, while the other is driven by the competitive desire to dominate others. So one would be more inclined to help others lose weight and encourage people to improve their diet and exercise habits and no personal gain, and the other would only deem help others for personal gain.

How much emphasis they both place on their health depends on their specific mission, how they are expressing their polarity. For some a high level of fitness will be very important. For others only a certain degree of functional fitness will be necessary.

Most likely you are neither type of person, but you can still apply polarity to an intention to lose weight to make it easier to succeed. Here are a couple examples.

Losing weight with love

To lose weight in a love polarized way, you might form a support group of people who also want to lose weight. You would commit yourself to their weight loss as well as your own, celebrating their milestones as your own personal victories. You would probably provide the service for free or for a very nominal fee if you can reasonably do so, so you can help as many people as possible. This commitment to helping others is going to boost your own motivation for losing weight. People are looking up to you as their role model. You are not just doing this for yourself; you are part of a team. Does this help you get an idea of how you would approach weight loss from the standpoint of love polarization?

Losing weight with fear

Now how would you lose weight with fear polarization? Forget about helping others. This is all about you, your pleasure and your pain. In this case you will use fear to create more pressure, so you are driven to succeed. Once you identify your goal weight, make a bet with someone you dislike that you’ll achieve your goal by a certain date; someone you know will just rub it in your face if you fail. If they do not want to accept a bet with you, then just promise to pay them if you fail. Make sure there are witnesses. For good measure, promise yourself a vacation or some other reward when your goal is achieved. Think often of how good you would look to your opposites. Does this help you understand how to use fear polarization to lose weight?

Plain text can not ever do justice to polarized intentions, since we are still reducing energy to content, but these examples will help you see the big picture. In each case we are using polarized energy to make the intention very strong.

Can you use a blended approach?

What would happen if you tried to combine both approaches? What if you blended the love strategy with the fear strategy? The problem with mixing both of these polarities together is that they will dilute each other, so your motivation will be greatly reduced. A single polarity provides a level of clarity and focus that drives you with much greater intensity than an energetically mixed intention. How can you express love and fear at the same time?

In order to use fear polarization, you have to hold a mindset that is inconsistent with love polarization, and vice versa. While it might seem possible if you have never tried it, in practice it simply just does not work. You might be able to mix bits and pieces of both techniques, but you will get the best results if your underlying motivation is either service or selfishness, and the techniques you select arise from that singular motive. Nevertheless, if you still think a blended approach will work, go ahead and try it yourself and see what happens. It is probably an experience you need to have, and you’ll learn far more by making that attempt than you will by reading this text.

You can certainly extend the ideas in this article to apply to other areas like relationships, family, and finances. Using polarized intentions is about being effective. Having supportive relationships is better than having no help at all, so both polarities would want decent relationships. Having more resources is better than being broke or in debt, so again both polarities would aim to have sufficient resources. But in each case the underlying motivations would be different. A love polarized person seeks leverage to increase his/her service. A fear polarized person seeks leverage to increase their personal gain above all other considerations.

So now you understand the role polarity plays in health related manifestations, you should be in able to judge whether you can successfully apply the principle to weight loss.

Polarity is a key concept to understanding how to create high-energy intentions. Thoughts have content and energy, and polarity is a property of the energy component. When you consider the energy of a thought, you are really talking about the energy flow. But in order to have a flow, we need a direction and that is what polarity is all about.

Keep an open mind as you read this article. The concepts are what are important, so try not to get hung up on the particular words used to describe them. If you can do this you will gain a valuable insight of how to use the Law of Attraction in ways to achieve your dreams and aspirations.

Defining polarity

In order to define polarity, we need to understand some concepts first, and explore the nature of thought.

As a conscious being, you have the ability to create thoughts. If you decide to think of a book, you can obviously easily do that.

Every thought consists of two primary components: the content and the energy. These are defined as:

Thought content

The content of a thought is the raw information it contains. If you think of an book, the content is your internal representation of the book. If you form an intention to have a million dollars, the content is the request for a million dollars.

The content portion of a thought contains no emotion itself. Content is what you get when you reduce a thought to something that could be stored in some media. Even if the original thought is highly emotional, the content portion is the emotionless representation of that thought, such as the sentence “I am angry” to represent the real-life emotion of anger holds no essence of anger.

This definition of content is simply an abstraction to help us better understand the energy component. There is no suggestion that your thoughts actually separate themselves into separate components. The suggestion is that this model will be helpful to you in creating thoughts that have more power to manifest what you desire.

Thought energy

Energy is the non-content portion of a thought. This concept is very difficult to explain in words because as soon as we reduce it to words, we end up with content, not energy. Words can never do the concept justice, just as the word “happy” can never convey the actual experience of being happy.

Intuitively you already have a grasp of the energy component of your thoughts, so the best way to define energy is to allow you to experience it subjectively right now. Here is a simple exercise you can do in about one minute to demonstrate thought energy This exercise should be very familiar to anyone who has studied NLP.

Try holding the thought “I am happy” in your mind right now for a few seconds. Notice how you feel when you hold this thought.

Now hold that same thought (identical content), but with more energy this time. Do whatever you think is necessary to make the “I am happy” thought more intense in your mind , smile, change your position, breathe more deeply, stand up, stick your chest out, look up or move around. Whatever intensifies the thought is good. Hold the thought at that new energy level for a few more seconds. Notice the difference in how this thought feels compared to the first thought. Can you perceive the increased energy even as the pure content of the thought remains unchanged?

Now lower the intensity, and bring the energy of the “I am happy” thought back down. Strip the thought of all its energy, and reduce it in your mind to pure content. It is nothing but a boring sentence you could be reading dispassionately from a boring book. That is the contrasting level you need to bring it down to. Hold the thought as pure content for a few more seconds. Notice how that feels compared to the first two thoughts. Can you sense the energetic difference?

Even though the content is the same in the situations, your subjective experience of these thoughts will be totally different. Objectively speaking, your breathing, physiology, and movement will change to reflect the energy of the thought you are holding. If someone else were doing this exercise in front of you, you would be able to perceive the differences. It isn’t difficult to gauge the intensity of someone’s thought energy by observing their physiology. This is especially easy to do with children who are less apt to disguise their emotional state and let the world see their state.

Energy and emotion

At this stage you might be thinking that energy and emotion are the same thing. They are related, but they are definitely not the same. Emotion is to energy as heat is to fire. The flow of thought energy creates emotion, just as fire produces heat. If you hold a thought with strong energy, you will feel strong emotion. If you hold a thought with weak energy, you will feel little or no emotion.

Energy is not something you can create or destroy. It simply exists in whatever form always has and always will. It is ever-present and always available. What makes you feel strong emotion is not the energy itself, which is ever-present, but rather the flow of the energy flowing through you.

There is a school of thought that you can increase your ability to manifest your desires by injecting more emotion into your thoughts. That advice is probably misguided. It is like saying you can make a fire burn hotter by turning up the heat in the room where the fire is. Technically that may true, as heat transmission is from the hotter item to the cooler item. It is a highly inefficient strategy, and you will end up investing more energy than you gain. If you want your fire (intention) to burn hotter, you should add more fuel (energy), and you’ll generate more heat (emotion) as a natural consequence.

Once you fully understand energy and begin to experiment with it, especially combined with polarity, you will find it a lot easier to generate intense emotional states simply by visualizing the energy flow.

Contrary to popular belief, an intense emotion like passion does not fuel or motivate activity. Passion is not the real source of drive and motivation. Passion itself is a by product of high thought energy. The reason you see passion and motivated action together is that they’re both outcomes of the flow of thought energy. Without thought energy, there is no passion, no activity, and no manifesting. So the process of generating results works like this:

INTENTION (CONTENT + THOUGHT ENERGY)

|

PASSION + DIRECT ACTION + PASSIVE MANIFESTING

|

RESULT

In every situation the particular mixture of passion, action, and manifesting will be different, but the ultimate cause of the whole chain of events is the original intention. Direct action and passive manifesting is basically the same thing because when passion is high, action becomes fun and effortless anyway.

Remember that we are talking energy here, not content. You can spend hours holding low-energy thoughts with great content, such as by reciting daily affirmations, and you will manifest virtually no passion, no activity, and no results. Similarly you can hold thoughts with really weak content but high energy, and you will feel a surge of motivation to passionately pursue them and generate results. You have probably had experiences with both of these extremes.

What is really fascinating is that when you form a powerful intention, one Law of Attraction with thought energy, other people (especially those who are energetically sensitive) can begin to pick up on it long before the intention physically manifests. Possibly on some level, this thought energy is beginning to resonate with those who will eventually be involved in its manifesting. Even though these are intentions that may take a decade or more to fully manifest in physical form, on an energetic level the creation has already been set in motion.

Energy as a practical tool

Depending on your particular belief system, other terms you can use in place of energy. It does not matter what term you use. The concept is all that matters.

This is just a presentation tool you can use. The concept of thought energy is much like a mathematical construct. For example, consider the mathematical concept of imaginary numbers, based on taking the square root of -1. Imaginary number space does not exist in a real physical sense, but the concept can still be used to solve interesting problems and generate results with enormously practical applications.

Energy flow and skill

As a conscious being, you have the ability to direct the flow of universal energy. In fact the ability to do this is one of the most fundamental skills of consciousness. It is a skill because there are varying degrees of competency. Like any other skill, you will have some level of innate ability in this area, but you can also improve it with practice. However, expecting to master this skill overnight is an extremely naive view

Becoming skilful at directing energy flow takes dedication, practice, and perseverance.

Your ability to successfully apply the Law of Attraction depends on your ability to generate the correct energy flow. If you cannot achieve a strong flow, you will fail miserably and get no results. That is not the end of the world, but it does mean that you will spend far more time servicing other people’s intentions instead of enjoying the fulfilment of your own.

A pattern you will see repeatedly with newcomers to the Law of Attraction is that they form intentions that are all content and no energy. They tweak the content again and again, mistakenly thinking that better content is the answer, but they never manage to build sufficient intensity on the energy side.

Many people who achieve poor results when trying to apply the Law of Attraction simply lack the skill of creating and sustaining energy flow.

In all fairness to those who are struggling with the Law of Attraction and making these newbie mistakes, it is not really your fault. There is a tremendous amount of marketing hype, and money making, surrounding the Law of Attraction these days that vastly oversimplifies its true complexities and leaves people thinking they can expect instant results overnight. You think it and it drops in your lap – No. The something-for-nothing crowd is going to be disappointed as they always are, but those who look beneath the surface and probe its depths, study and practice will find something wonderful. Just do your best to ignore the marketing hype without feeling a need to attack or defend it.

Polarity

Now you are finally ready to explore the concept of polarity. This is a very key concept to understanding how to create high-energy intentions.

Thoughts have content and energy, and polarity is a property of the energy component. When you consider the energy of a thought, you are really talking about the energy flow. But in order to have a flow, we need a direction.

What are the possible directions of energy flow? With respect to your consciousness, there are only two directions that make sense: into your consciousness or out from your consciousness. Energy can flow towards you, or it can flow away from you.

The polarity of the energy flow is simply its direction. The in-flowing energy has one polarity, and the out-flowing energy has the opposite polarity.

So here are the two basic ways energy can flow through your consciousness:

You direct energy from your consciousness out to the universe.

You draw energy from the universe into your consciousness.

Number one is like breathing out, and two is like breathing in, except we are talking energy instead of air. This is not any kind of physical energy flowing through your physical body. It is best to treat this as a conceptual tool.

Choosing polarity

The polarity of every thought is either outward or inward but can never be both. A thought could be totally neutral as well, which would mean that it has content but no energy, and since it has no energy, it cannot be polarized. An example would be imagining a pencil or holding some other emotionless idea in your mind that you do not connect with an energy flow.

These two different energy polarities are incompatible with each other. When you have both polarities present at the same time and in the same magnitude, they cancel each other. In effect you are working against yourself.

Not understanding polarity is a source of tremendous frustration when applying the Law of Attraction, since it is entirely possible to inject lots of energy into your intentions but get very little or no results if you are mixing both polarities together. Unfortunately it is extremely easy to do this by default, as are many aspects of the Law of Attraction. If you want to manifest a particular desire, you will achieve the best results by picking a single polarity and using it consistently.

Polarizing your intentions

Based on the polarity concept, there are a couple things you can note about intentions:

An intention without a strong polarity is very weak and has little power to manifest

An intention with a strong polarity is very strong and has significant power to manifest

To polarize an intention, you must energize it with directional energy. The energy must either flow outward or inward, but not both.

Understand that with respect to this model, everything is energy, so although the content of your intentions may seem to have nothing to do with energy, ultimately you can think of your intentions in terms of some kind of flow, and that flow is either coming into you or going out of you. An intention that does not align with one of these natural flows will have virtually no power to manifest.

Here are some examples of intentions that align well with outflow (from your consciousness out to the universe):

Write a book

Build a business

Compose a song

Draw a picture

Throw a party

Give a speech

Start a blog

And here are some examples of intentions that align well with inflow (from the universe into your consciousness):

Get a new car

Attract a new relationship

Receive a certain sum of money

Get a new job

Achieve a certain reputation

Win a contest

Technically these lists have no energy (or polarity) because as plain text they reduce intentions to mere content, but you can see there is a logical directional choice for the flow of energy for each example.

Outward flowing energy involves creation and giving. Inward flowing energy involves acquiring and receiving. Although these two energies may seem similar, they’re actually very distinct opposites.

It is possible to take the same content and apply either energetic polarity to it. For example, consider the intention of eating a nice dinner. You can imbue this intention with out-flowing energy by imagining it as a creative endeavor, focusing on the experience of preparing an interesting meal, concocting an original recipe, laying out the table, and perhaps sharing the food with others. You are adding to the substance of the universe. On the other hand, you can also fill this intention with in-flowing energy by focusing on appeasing your appetite, enjoying the taste and texture of the food, being served, and feeling satiated at the end of the meal. In this case you are receiving from the universe. Your dinner will turn out best if you pick one polarity or the other and stick with it. If you’ve never tried doing this consciously, I highly encourage you to do so.

To form a strong intention, think of that intention as either an inflow or an outflow of energy. Are you primarily creating or acquiring? It’s important to be crystal clear about which polarity you’re going to use.

If you can not clarify your intention in terms of the inflow or outflow of energy, you’ll end up with a very weak intention that is not likely to manifest. When you form a true intention, either you are giving something to the universe, or you are getting something from it. While you may in fact experience both results as your intention manifests (giving leads to getting and vice-versa), what is important here is that you focus your intentional energy on either one direction or the other but not both. Your attention must be concentrated either on sending energy out or on drawing energy in.

There is no right or wrong choice of polarity except not to choose one. If you load your intentions with energy of mixed polarity, you’re only wasting your efforts. The two energies will simply neutralize each other and you will achieve nothing.

Polarized emotional feedback

These concepts may be easier to understand if you look at them from another angle: the emotional output of polarized energy. If you apply highly polarized energy to your intentions, you will experience a strong surge of emotion. But that emotional surge will be totally different depending on your choice of polarity.

If you use the polarity of creation and giving (outflow), you will experience a surge of related emotions such as love, joy, and inspiration.

If you use the polarity of acquisition and receiving (inflow), you will experience a surge of related emotions such as greed, lust, and power.

These polarized emotional states are incompatible with each other, which is what we would expect as a result of the underlying energies being incompatible. However, a peak emotional state on either side can be labeled as a form of passion. On either side you will experience intense, highly motivating emotional states.

Based on the emotional consequences, your social conditioning, and your personality, you may have a bias towards one polarity or the other. And thus your upbringing and environment can have some influence within your ability to manifest the full range of expectations. As far as the universe is concerned, these polarities are equally acceptable. To say that one is better than the other is to say that breathing in is better than breathing out.

If you experience no surge of emotion when focusing on your intentions, you are not putting enough energy into them, or you’re injecting them with energy of mixed polarity.

Life experience has probably shown you by now that when you hold an intention with strong emotions, it is very likely to manifest. You will be extremely motivated to take action, and it may also seem like the universe is bending over backwards to help you get there. In those situations you were using polarized energy, intensely focusing on either the outward flow of creative expression (giving) or the inward flow of acquisition (receiving). Instead of mixing those two polarities together, you primarily focused on one side or the other. It was either “I want to give” or “I want to get.” And you felt an intense emotional surge as a natural consequence of using polarized energy correctly.

Understanding inflow and outflow

The polarities of inflow and outflow are not like the two sides of the same coin, like yin and yang. These polarities are not something you would want to balance. Saying that you should balance the polarities of outflow and inflow is like saying you should balance your good deeds with bad ones. In this case balance is not a desirable quality, unless you want to end up a very conflicted individual.

The confusion is in using terms like inflow and outflow is that they imply an inherent balance. How can you have inflow without outflow, and vice versa? The difference between polarities is more extreme though. Instead of inflow and outflow, try fear and love respectively. These terms are probably more accurate labels, since they imply fundamentally different ways of relating to life. They are polar opposites, but they are not the kind you would want to balance or blend together.

The only way you will truly understand the significance of polarity is by experiencing it for yourself. Whenever you observe yourself or someone else in an emotional state, stop and take notice of the energetic flow that’s present. What is its polarity? Is the focus on inflow or outflow?

Using this valuable insight into polarity will unlock a key concept to understanding how to create high-energy intentions.

You should consider the benefits of polarization. It will make your life more deliberate and worthwhile. The process needs some preparation but the rewards far out weigh any time and effort spent. After you polarize and learn to use your dominant energy with greater intensity, there will be major beneficial consequences. These include clearer thinking, stronger and more accurate intuition, increased psychic development, and a greater ability to manifest your desires. Overall your life will become much easier and richer for you because you will have a greater capacity to use your intentional energy. It can be likened to being ten times stronger and everything you pick up feeling much lighter.

The process is explained in easy to digest sections to help you start your change to a new life now.

The components of thought

Every thought has two components: content and energy. Content is the data portion of a thought, and energy is the carrier that gives a thought the power to manifest. Think of each thought as being like a radio wave. The electromagnetic radio wave is the energy component, and the information being transmitted is the content.

Our bodies behave like energetic receiver-transmitters within, translating the energy that flows through us into emotional states. High energy thoughts generate intense emotional states. Low energy thoughts generate little or no emotion.

Thought energy has a polarity. That polarity is either in-flowing or out-flowing. In-flowing thoughts focus on receiving and acquiring. Out-flowing thoughts focus on creating and giving.

The thoughts with the greatest power to manifest are those which are highly polarized, this means that your attention is primarily focused on inflow or outflow, but not both. It is possible for the energy component of a thought to have a mixture of both in-flowing and out-flowing polarities, but those opposite polarities will cancel each other, and the thought will have significantly less power to manifest. This gives rise to the concept of partial manifestation. Electromagnetic waves at the same frequency (akin to vibration in Law of Attraction terms), can interfere with each other, so even though the overall energy of each signal is high, the content of both signals ends up as garbled static. Thoughts behave similarly.

The manifestation of a highly polarized thought can occur through motivated action or passive synchronicity or (usually) a combination of both. Ultimately the intentional energy is what sparks the chain of events leading to the eventual manifestation.

To improve your ability to manifest an intention, consciously make a choice to use either in-flowing or out-flowing energy but never both. As you will soon see, that choice is much more significant than it appears at first reading.

What goes around comes around

The flow of energy never stops. It is always circulating. Consider the basic patterns of polarized energy flow.

Polarized outflow: In this situation you focus your attention on the outflow. Your intention is aligned with creating, giving, or contributing. Your outward flow of energy causes an associated energetic response from the universe, so energy flows right back to you again. It may flow back to you through other people, through money, through loving relationships, etc. But there will always be a compensating return flow. The best way to receive that return flow is with gratitude; then send it back out again to generate more outflow. The rule for this polarity is: Giving is its own reward.

Polarized inflow: Here you focus your attention on the inflow. Your intention is aligned with getting, acquiring, or achieving. Your inward flow of energy causes an associated energetic response from the universe, so this energetic debt must flow back out of you again. In this case the compensating return flow will comprise some form of payback. It may be an outward flow of money, work to be completed, the manifestation of competitors, etc. The rule for this polarity is: We live in a competitive world, and you have to look out for yourself.

Mixed flow: Attempting to mix the two flows of energy types together will generally create an energetic mess, confusing you as to what is happening and degrading the result. Instead of building a strong, steady flow in one direction, you will manifest chaotic turbulence. Your job is to focus on one end and let the universe handle the return flow. This is what it means to “go with the flow.” If you focus on giving, you will receive too. If you focus on getting, you will manifest a compensating outflow. But if you send out energy in both directions, you will have to deal with the summation of both return flows. This constant shifting of your energy will make your life seem far more random and accidental than it really is, but you’re really just be tossed around by the wake of your own thought waves.

Creating energetic chaos by constantly shifting polarities is something you are always free to do. If you wish to be tossed around by the currents of life, go ahead. In fact, most people do exactly this by default. But it is a mistake to blame outside forces for your current situation when you’re only dealing with the natural reflections of the energies you have produced in the first place. Often an accidental untangling of the flows will result in a partial manifestation, but this is in the minority.

Karma

The concept of karma is easy to explain in terms of polarized energy flow. The energies you put out will always come back to you in one form or another. The polarity of outflow generates positive karma, while the polarity of inflow generates negative karma which can be regarded as karmic debt. If you heavily favor one polarity over the other, it is easier to observe the karmic reflections. However, if you frequently switch polarities or mix them together, in desperation or otherwise, you will have a hard time connecting the path between your experiences and the thoughts that spawned them.

Negative karma is not necessarily a terrible thing if you’re willing to accept the karmic reflections and pay them willingly. Karmic debt is much like financial debt. It can be used constructively, or it can overwhelm you. Those who are skilled with the polarity of inflow learn to accept the karmic debt created by their intentions and pay it willingly rather than resisting it.

Fear

Fear (inflow) is the energy of survival, power, and control. It is associated with intense emotions such as greed, victory, or lust. Fear energy seeks expression through the acquisition of power. It wants to overwhelm, to dominate, to conquer, to possess. When you fantasize about dominating or controlling others or your environment, you are summoning fear energy in them.

Fear is a specific way of relating to life that says, “I am inherently vulnerable, and the more power I have, the less vulnerable I become.” Life is a competitive venture, and ultimately you can not trust anyone but yourself. The point of life is to increase your power. The part of you that believes you need to acquire more power, more money, more status, or a better position is the part that resonates with fear energy. If a fear polarized person could pick a magical power, they would choose something to increase their dominance over others or the environment, probably something like mind control.

The peak emotion of polarized fear energy is that of feeling unstoppably powerful. When you build a certain intensity of fear energy, you will feel incredibly powerful and dominant.

Love

Love is the energy of connectedness, creation, and service. It is associated with intense emotions such as joy, peace, and oneness. Love seeks expression through giving and creativity. It wants to connect, to heal, to unite, to inspire. When you intensely desire to serve the highest good of all, you’re summoning love energy.

Love is a specific way of relating to life that says, “No matter what happens, I am perfectly safe.” You relate to life from a state of fearlessness because you know that on a fundamental level, nothing can truly harm you. The point of life is joyful self-expression. The part of you that believes that everything is already perfect and that you are here to embrace and enjoy the experience is the part that resonates with love energy. If a love-polarized person could pick a magical power, s/he would choose something to increase his/her ability to serve the greater good, probably something like the ability to heal people.

The peak emotion of polarized love energy is that of experiencing complete perfection and undeniable beauty in all things. When you build a certain intensity of love energy, you will radiate gratitude, joy, and unconditional love.

Polarization

The reason you find yourself living as a human being in this physical universe is so you can experiment freely with both polarities at relatively low intensities. Eventually you must choose between them, meaning that you yourself must polarize.

It makes no sense to attempt to balance fear and love energies because they cancel each other. They are two fundamentally different ways of relating to existence. Either you believe you’re fundamentally safe here, which is love polarization, or you do not, which is fear polarization). Those of you who find yourselves living as human beings are still working to address this fundamental question. Once we make that choice and come to terms with it, we begin the next stage of our existence.

Mixing love and fear energies is the result of not having made this choice yet. We are not certain what to believe. We do not even know how to make the choice. But ultimately that’s exactly what it is; a choice to be made of our own free will. Although you likely have a pre-existing moral bias about this decision, in the grand scheme of things there is no right or wrong answer. You can choose to polarize with fear, or you can choose to polarize with love. The whole point of your human existence is to help you come to terms with that decision and then to actually make it.

Polarization and levels of consciousness

What’s the relationship between polarization and your level of consciousness? While people often bias their descriptions of those levels to favor love orientation, it is entirely possible to have a fear orientation at any level as well.

Those who choose to polarize with love become lightworkers. Those who choose to polarize with fear assume the opposite stance, on the dark side. The more conscious and aware you become, the more easily you will observe the role of polarized energy, and the more pressure you will feel to polarize one way or the other. Your level of consciousness does not dictate your polarity, but it does help you come to terms the importance of this decision.

At each level of consciousness, there are fear based and love based manifestations. For example, there is a form of courage that is rooted in fear, and there is another form of courage that is rooted in love. The fear based courage will entice you to conquer your fears, while the love based courage will motivate you to transcend your fears. As another example, at the level of peace, there is a certain peace that comes from a sense of oneness, and there is another kind of peace that comes from wielding a sufficient amount of power.

If you want to master the force, the energy flow, you must eventually polarize. Those who never polarize are largely powerless and will simply serve as pawns of those who do.

Making the polarity choice

People struggle with what is the biggest decision of their lives, and they are often found sitting on the fence of confusion about what they should choose. They are usually leaning one way or the other, but they can still see both alternatives as possible. They have the feeling that once they decide, there is no going back; this is simply not true.

When you first begin to understand the fundamental nature of this choice, it can take many years to come to terms with it.

Ultimately the way to make the decision is to ask this searching question; which reality do I wish to experience? Once you make the choice, you will begin attracting a reality that reflects your choice. You will eventually be surrounded by the corresponding reflections that match your energetic output. When you look at the choice in that way, it will be easier for you to decide. It may still not be easy though.

Now you may be thinking who on earth would want to polarize with fear energy, obviously love is the only proper choice. If that is your thinking, then you may not have yet come to terms with your own being, and you are not ready to polarize. Before you can make this decision consciously, you must understand the appeal of both polarities because that is the whole point of human existence.

Post polarization

After you decide to polarize you still have access to both energetic polarities, but one of them will become dominant over the other. This change does not happen instantly. Most likely it will be a very gradual progression as you are reliant on the non-dominant polarity less and less and on the dominant one more and more.

As you learn to use your dominant energy more frequently, your ability to manifest what you want easily will increase. It is like you finally have your batteries plugged in the right way, so a strong current is able to flow. The energetic waves that come back to you are magnified greatly because your energetic output begins to form a resonant pattern. It is like pushing a child on a swing. If you push at random intervals, the child will not swing very high because some of your pushes will cancel the existing momentum. But if you push with the right rhythm, at the correct time, the child will swing higher and higher. In each case your total energy output is the same, but the results are very different. When you stick with energy of a single polarity, you are finally pushing with the right rhythm, manifesting greater results without working any harder. If you used mixed energy and try to improve your results by working harder, you will only manifest more frustration. In some respects these are the actions of panic.

Over time it becomes harder to rely on your non-dominant polarity when you know it’s going to reduce your effectiveness in the long run. An intensely selfish person who one day shows a heart-felt mercy will just end up weakening themselves. An intensely giving person who acts from obsessive lust does the same. If you use your non-dominant energy after you have polarized, it will definitely weaken you in some way.

Polarization comes with the responsibility to be consistent in your energy usage. You cannot keep switching sides every day, or hour, like people do before they polarize. You can not be forgiving one day and then plot revenge the next. That is guaranteed to mess your mind. Sticking to a single polarity for a sufficient length of time will increase your capacity to create flow. Once that flow reaches a certain level, you can not reverse it mid-stream without serious energetic consequences. You’re too likely to manifest an energetic explosion.

The consequences of polarization

At their fullest intensities, both polarities are extremely powerful. But until you polarize, you do not have access to the full range on either side. On a scale between minus ten to plus ten, you maybe get to operate in the limited range of minus three to plus three before you polarize, and that is a logarithmic scale. After you polarize you gradually get access to the rest of the range, but only on one side or the other.

After you polarize and learn to use your dominant energy with greater intensity, there will be major beneficial consequences. These include clearer thinking, stronger and more accurate intuition, increased psychic development, and a greater ability to manifest your desires. Overall life will become much easier and richer for you because you will have a greater capacity to use intentional energy. It is like being ten times stronger and everything you pick up feels much lighter.

However, the increased capacity comes with a price. You will feel a greater responsibility to use it. For a worker in the dark realms, the responsibility is to increase your positional power, to become more dominant in your primary undertakings through competitive superiority. For a lightworker the responsibility is to expand your capacity for unconditional love and creative expression. As polarized energy courses through you, it seeks to increase its flow and to increase your capacity as an energetic medium.

Polarized momentum

Once you begin favoring a single energetic polarity, the feedback you receive will encourage you to keep heading in the same direction. This is because the energetic feedback will eventually align itself with your dominant polarity. In essence when you use fear energy, you will attract more reasons to use it. The same goes for love energy.

For example, if you devote your life to serving the highest good of all, you will receive an enormous return flow from the universe. The more you give, the more you will receive. This return flow, especially when received gratefully, will only encourage you to continue giving. The joyful emotions you experience will do likewise.

On the other hand, if you center your life around conquest, acquisition, and victory, the energetic feedback will tend to reinforce your competitive posture, since the universe will always be pulling the energy back out again. You will manifest enemies and competitors that you must constantly defend against, and as you gain more positional power, they will become stronger and more resolute in their attempts to drain your energy. The more powerful you become, the more powerful your opposition becomes, and the less you can afford to let your guard down. The emotions you experience as a result of this energy flow will further reinforce your focus on strengthening your position and striving for greater dominance.

A person who has not yet polarized will manifest mixed and chaotic feedback. Since their energy output is scrambled, it cannot build any momentum and will tend to remain scrambled. Such people have very little power to manifest their desires, so they usually end up as pawns (servants, employees, followers, etc.) of those who are more polarized. This is not a bad thing per se, since it provides important experience, but eventually it is necessary to make the polarization choice consciously and deliberately.

Final words of wisdom

Do not worry about polarizing your entire being right away. Start with small decisions and projects, and observe the consequences. When you tackle a particular problem or goal or put out an intention, consciously decide which polarity you are going to use, and stick with it. For example, suppose you want to resolve a problem with a certain co-worker. Will you attempt to dominate and gain power over the other person to get what you want, or will you unconditionally forgive and accept that person and attempt to do what’s best for them? Either approach can work, but they have very different consequences and those consequences may tend to reinforce the original polarity choice.

Notice how these different energies feel when you apply them consciously. And notice how much more effective it is to use a single polarity instead of haphazardly mixing them together. This will help you gain experience with both polarities, making it easier for you to eventually decide which polarity to align yourself with.

The following video shows the results of a famous physics experiment called the double slit experiment. The video graphically shows the connection between mind power and quantum physics. It confirms what experts in the field of the Law of Attraction have been telling us for years.

The double-slit experiment, is sometimes called Young’s experiment, and is a demonstration of the strange fact that matter and energy can display characteristics of both waves and particles (photons). You can see particles (photons), but not waves. In the basic version of the experiment, a coherent light source from as a laser illuminates a thin metal plate having two parallel slits. The laser light passing through the slits is observed on a screen placed behind the plate. The wave nature of coherent light (comprised of a single frequency) causes the waves passing through the two slits to interfere, producing bright and dark bands on the screen. This result should not happen if light consisted strictly of particles. However, at the screen, the light is always shown as though it were composed of discrete particles or photons; this is known as the principle of wave–particle duality.

Quantum Physics

The premise of Quantum Physics is that matter can behave as particles or waves. The double slit experiment proves that matter can behave as particles or as waves; but matter cannot behave as waves and particles at the same time.

The double-slit experiment confirmed that our observation changes the behaviour of waves into particles. The behavior is dependent on our observation. The particle appears to know it is being watched (observed) and because of this, it acts accordingly.

This behaviour leads to some exciting conclusions related to the the Law of Attraction.

Reality

All matter is governed by Quantum Physics. Sub atomic particles are the building blocks of all matter. Your physical body, your house, your car, and your money, but only when you draw it from the cash dispenser.

All these particles respond to the way we observe them. We influence the waves of matter simply by observing them. Your observation of reality is what creates your reality.

Mind Power

Your observation is where you direct your attention. The double-slit experiment demonstrates that our attention influences the behavior of particles. And since all matter is comprises these sub atomic particles you could assume that the behavior of matter is influenced by your observation.

Your attention creates your physical reality. This means that everything you observe has originated from your thoughts for good or bad. That is why it is vitally important to understand the consequences of your thinking. Only think about what you want in your life!
